Heart attack warning: Does your skin look like this? The hidden sign of heart disease

Heart attacks are serious medical emergencies that require immediate attention from a doctor. You could be at risk of a deadly heart attack – or myocardial infarction – if you develop an unexplained blue pattern on your skin, it’s been claimed.

Heart attacks are caused by a lack of blood reaching the heart.

Without enough blood, the heart could become seriously damaged – and it may even be life-threatening.

A heart attack could also be a symptom of coronary heart disease, which is where fatty deposits build up in the arteries, which limits the amount of blood reaching the heart.

One of the key warning signs of heart disease include developing unusual patterns on your skin.

Some heart disease patients may find that they have a series of lines on their skin.

These lines are usually a blue or purple colour, and they may form a pattern on the skin’s surface.

Some people may develop this pattern when they feel particularly cold, or if they’re taking certain medication.

You should speak to a doctor if you’re worried that you may have these lines, as it could be serious.

“Warning signs can appear on your skin and nails, which is why your dermatologist may be the first doctor to notice that you have heart disease,” said the American Academy of Dermatology.

“Blue or purple net-like pattern on your skin – What it may be telling you: You have a blocked artery.

“This netlike pattern can also be a sign of a disease called cholesterol embolisation syndrome, which occurs when small arteries become blocked.

“The blockage can lead to damaged tissues and organs, so it’s important to see a doctor to find out whether you have an undiagnosed disease.”

Meanwhile, you could also be at risk of a deadly heart attack if you find strange lumps on your skin.

These lumps can appear anywhere on the skin, and are usually smooth to the touch.

It’s believed that they’re caused by a build-up of proteins in the heart, or other crucial organs.

The protein deposits make it significantly more difficult for the heart to work properly.

The most common heart attack symptoms include severe chest pain, having a radiating pain in your arm, and suddenly feeling very dizzy.

But you can lower your risk of a heart attack by making some small diet or lifestyle changes.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet will lower your chances of fatty deposits in your arteries.

If you think you, or someone you know, may be having a heart attack, it’s crucial that you dial 999 straight away.
